Well I made it to paris, took a random metro line, took an arbitrary stop on the metro, walked off on some street nd got a hotel room. I cant wait to see where this night is gonna take me.

      Im in a district called st lazare. In a hotel called "Grand hotel du calvados" on amsterdam street. It is 8 pm here in france and I figured i would just come toss in a quick post. I got a map of the area and highlighted the hotel on it and wrote down the address cause I might have a hard time to stuble my way back here tonight.       

   Im going to go out and look for some bars or club to go check out tonight.  Im glad i decided last minute to come to Paris instead of staying around the hotel all day doing notthing. I could hve gone to visit a castle with the other guys but I didnt really feel like it. Dont gt me wrong seeing the last castle was fun but im kinda all castled out i guess.

I figured I would come post my results so far from my online poker playing since i have some time to kill before i leave for paris. I playing some cash games this week. I started with 200$. I play .05/.10 blinds with a buy in of 10$. I play only 10 seat tables to try to get an idea if i would want to start playing more at the casino. so here is my first update.

Donked off a buying calling an all in with an open ended straight flush draw not having good pot odds.


Lost just a little less than a buyin with AK suited when i got a straight on the turn because the other guy got a full house on the flop. 10 10 J. I had an inside str flush draw.So i betted he called. turn came a low spade which gave me my flush. I bet just a little less than pot and he called.i figured he had trips her so i went all in. and got called 10 J.

the rest was little pots here and there. I didnt do any huge playing sessions today. maybe 2-2:30 hours tops. I was two tableing part of the way and single tableing others.

I really didnt have very many good hands. I got KK wich i won a small pot with.
I also got QQ on the BB and obviously as it tends to happen everyone folded around to me.

played two tables for a good few hours. I could probably be making more money if i was making less mistakes. Still all in all it was a decent session. no big obvious mistakes. There are still some small obvious mistakes. but im getting better.

Well its saturday and i dont wanna sit around and do notthing all weekend so im heading out to paris by train. im gonns find something to do and probably spend the night there. Anyway i should either have something interesting to post on sunday.

I went to have lunch today at what has to be one of the only places open at lunch time on Sunday McDonalds. The funny thing about McDonald in France is that everything has an English name. I had a chicken bacon onion sandwich.  I think it is their way of not associating McDonald’s food with France whatsoever. They do call the quarter pounder a royal here.  The item I found the most perplexing is the Fillet-o-fish here is a mc fish. I mean if you’re gonna change the English name might as well make it French. Oh well. One thing that is definitely the same as good ol north American McDonalds is the god awful feeling you have after eating it.

Lainwired in France



Well after some interesting OT forum discussions, I figured it would b interesting to try picking up the blog again. I'm in a car now going to Caen. We are going to a WW2 museum there. Should be interesting. That town has a day of defeat level named after it so there should be lots of interesting stuff there :-D. I will post more about it after i go.



Saturday i went to visit le chateaux Chambord. The biggest of the la Loire castles. It is very cool to be walking around inside a castle that has been around for hundreds of years. Francois the 1st built that place to use as a hunting cabin. We went on a guided tour of it but i quickly god bored of the slow pace of the guided tour and broke off to go exploring. There are a lot of hot tourist girls that go to castles :-D.



Random stuff about France



The use a lot of English slang when it comes to products. Like a chicken sandwich will be un chicken sandwich. Don't bother asking for a "the glace" here because they call it "un iced tea" (add thick French accent). Furthermore all iced tea in France is peach flavored. Its like a time Horton's how they have cans of iced tea and they have cans of peach drink. Iced tea in France is like a mix of those two things. Tastes pretty good.



Well im arriving in Caen now so that is all for now.

TV

The big bang theory.
A sitcom about two nerds who get a sexy new neighbor and one of them has a crush on her. I find the jokes aren't particularly well written. I just find that if a show is gonna be about "intelligent" people it should have some "intelligent" writing.

Rating: Golden Meh of the week. It is ok to watch in th background of gaming but don't pay too much attention to it or else you spot the suckiness.


The Mighty Boosh

This British comedy is about  couple of guys who work together at a zoo and always trying to start a band. Zany adventure ensue. I found this after i sent a link to coalheart for "Old Greg". I had seen old Greg a long time ago and had always been curious about where it was from. the show is really just random craziness. I like the review someone gave it online "this show does the drugs for you" Unfortunetly i forgot his screen name so i cant credit him.

Rating: Woo. A great show. a must if you like British comedy.

Renan Luce

This is about the only French music that plays in France, I find it catchy. If you like hey there Delilah you would probably like his stuff. Its pretty much the same acoustic solo kinda stuff.

Rating: Meh. Worth a listen i if you like acoustic guitar music that stays stuck in your head.


Games

 Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core    PSP

This is coming out next Tuesday but i got a pirated copy that was leaked online. This  prequel to the legendary FF7. You play as zack ( who you should recognize from some of clouds' flashbacks if you played ff7). He is in SOLDIER and working for shinra. So i haven't gotten too far into it yet but so far the story is pretty captivating. They use the new action battle system, which I am somewhat conflicted about. On one hand the puritan old school rpger in me misses the menu driven combat system, on the other hand so far I find the action battle system makes battles a whole lot more fun. Who can blame square. The ADD kids of today wont buy it if it doesnt require constant button mashing. It is kina like playing devil may cry during fights.

Rating: Great big double Woo. If you own a PSP go buy this game. If you don't own a psp, go buy  psp and this game. If you don't have money go rob a convenience store, buy a psp and this game.

 No Boos this week. so all in all it has been an interesting week.

I know i havent posted in a long time and this is retarded but here it goes. I installed flirtables on facebook the other day and i have been burning massive amounts of time doing that and i boiled facebook flirting down to a few key rules to how i pick the worthy ones to flirt with.

1. If there is some guy in the picture your fucking cut .

2. If there is a picture with a bunch of girls in it i automaticaly assume your the ugly one. 

3. No picture? your big time cut because that can only mean one of two things. your too stupid to work your computer or Your face broke teh internet .

When you find a lucky lady send her a PM saying RRRRRRRRAAAAOOOOWWWWWWWWW. Nothing chicks did more than that. :-/ lol 

anyway. this is just me at work late just posting to post. I had my christmas party this saturday. I went with kim and we had a great time. However Sunday was rough. I was pretty hung over all day. I still had a headache this morning. :-/ wine and scotch in unlimited quantities are the devil. It's midnight and im gonna be leaving work soon. Mondays are always rough lots of calls and things always go bad at night. anyway im gonna go finish up

i hit the snooze hard this morning. i was suppose to wake up at 7:15 but i woke up at 9. needless to say i start work at 9 and i work 1 hour drive away from my place. So i got to work around 10:30. Meh im suppose to finish around 5-6 pm today so it will be a nice short days that go by fast. I didnt have time to shower today and i hadnt showered yesterday which normaly would be  kinda gross but i swithched my deoderant recently from degree sport to degree ionic. I swear to god that new degree ionic is like by far the best deoderant in the world. i smell pretty good for someone who hasnt showered in 3 days. I lucked out as well because my hair doesnt look too greacy. I just found out i might be here till 9 ish. not good. oh well. This blogpost is starting toremind me of guilaumes long pointless emails and facebook messages that randomly rattle on about dumb shit with no point. So i will cut this one short.

Oii. So i worked till 12 yesterday and it took me and hour to get home. I was distinctly thinking the whole ride how it was a terrible idea to be driving when i hadnt slept in 36ish hours. But oh well it worked out for the best im still alive. I got home at 1 and watched like 40 minutes of conan with marco and alex (that was my me time for the day) i went to bed at 2 but once again i couldnt fall asleep even if i was dead tired. i remember the last time i looked at the clock before i fell asleep it was 3:30. I woke up at 7:15 didnt shower or shave. got dressed left for an other long ass day of work. Now it is 1 pm and it discusts me to think that i have 11 hours to go. Luckily the days go by pretty fast because i dont stop for a second. I manage to find a little time here and there to go on pokerfaction. I think blogging about this is the only thing keeping me sane. Now i still havent received an answer from my boss about how my overtime works. This might become an issue. Il ask again on friday if i dont have an answer because i might have to fight for some compensation for this unrealistic work scheduel. Im not sure exactly how many days a week im going to be doing these 15 hour shifts but i need to be paid them. My yearly salary doesnt even come close to justifying working this much overtime for no extra money.

Now for a poker faction tech update. What i have planned for pokerfaction as far as tech work goes now is:

changing the apperence of the list of articles and videos which looks really ugly now.  

Changing the flash buttons at the top for css( this should improve page load times and fix the fact that ie7 now forces you to click to enable the flash which means you have to click twice)

Fix forum overlaps which still kinda happen once in a while

 fix the img resizer ( once that is done all images will be put into forums  in BBCode so the resize happens coerrectly)

Most of those things we need some help with but we have a guy that should come deal with those soon.

Me and marco are still trying to find a way to encode divx without Dr Divx because the Dr doesnt like our videos. anyone with suggestions regarding that please contact me. 

hey look at me my first blog post in months. Well i cant go into much detail about the job right now but all i want to say is that i couldnt sleep last night so i got like literaly 0 hours of sleep. Today im working from 9 am - midnight and tomorrow im working from 9:00 am to midnight again. it take roughly an hour to get here in the morning and at night i guess it will be like 45 minutes since there is no traffic. it is now 4:55 and ive been drinking insane amounts of coffee all day. all that is keeping me going right now is tons of coffee and loud daft punk pumpin on my headphones. Im currently talking to my company to sort out how im getting paid all this overtime because as it stands i only get paid 37.5 hours a week and all the hours i do extra i get in time off eventualy. but that kinda doesnt make any sense because i would have at least 1.5 months off based on a rough calculation i did. so anyway we need to work this out because i dont mind working insane hours if i get insane compensation. as it stands at my salary of 32k a year that wont cut it for working 15 hour days at least 3 times a week. They did ask me if i could do supplimentary hours in the interview, which i said yes to, but seing as how a normal shift is 7.5 hours and im doing 15 a day, id say it is a little more than supplimentary hours it is doing 2 shifts a day. Anyway il try and come post some more info about my blog and pokerfaction when i get some time(if i get some time :-/  )  but for now that is my rant. im probably going to give audio bloging a try when im not working which as far as i can tell now will only be the weekend since im goin to be working like every single hour of the day that im not sleeping.
