update
I got drunk yesterday. Basically, my team and I were suppose to work on our stock market simulation but instead we ended up doing practically nothing and doing no trades. 3 of us then decided to go eat and drink a bit at a nearby bar. The club sandwich was delicious. I didn't think we'd stay there all night but we did, drinking pitchers after pitchers until the bar closed down at 3. I had a great time.
Today was another unproductive day as I was recuperating from yesterday. Me and Jesse are thinking about going on a road trip but we're not sure where to go exactly. We don't have class tomorow and monday(because of a provincial election here in Quebec) so we have a long weekend. We can't even make a decision about what to eat right now so I guess we're going to have a hard time deciding on where to go, if we go at all. We thought about boston(stay at Jesse's dad), moncton(to see our NB friends) and Niagara falls(for the casinos and poker).
Poker was great for me since I came back from Edmundston for the march break. Even though I was sick the whole time and feeling tired, I played a lot of poker and won pretty much every single day. It's good for the confidence to have a good run for a change. It's generally accepted that you should not play poker for significant amounts of money when you aren't at 100% but i'm starting to have a different view about it. I think it's ok to play as long as you still have an edge. If my game is better than my opponent's game even if i'm only playing at 60% of my capacity, it would be alright to play as opposed to waste my time watching TV or doing something else.
I love money
Today the stock market is down considerably and I lost a bit of money. Stocks that I want to buy are getting crushed and I hate not having more cash in my trading account to put to work. I need to go fund my account tomorrow morning to make sure I can profit from this important pull back.
Right now the variance of my portfolio is insignificant compare to the variance I experience daily from poker. I made a bit less than 6 buy-ins today. I played very well and ran pretty good. Nobody sucked out on me when I had big hands and most of them got paid off handsomely. Hopefully I will continue to run this good because i'm tired of breaking even.
Before the poker, me and Jesse went to see the movie 300 tonight and I wasn't disapointed. A lot of people were saying that they might have used slow motion a bit too much but I think it was very well directed. Actually, I hate epic fight scenes where tha action is so fast you can't distinguish anything. For some reason the movie motivated me to play poker. I missed Boston Legal but it was well worth it.
Anyway, i'm tired and I feel like eating a bagel so good night.
I'm on life tilt
As much as I hate to admit it, nothing seems to be going my way since the beginning of the year. I'm not accomplishing anything I had planned on doing and I couldn't be less productive right now. As of late, my poker game is terrible and I'm running bad. I always seem to find a way to lose all of my profits at the end of a session or simply lose a big amount right off the bat. I played one hour today and I'm down 2000$. That's after I find out I have a 4000$ balance on my credit card (no big deal it just pisses me off).
I'm at the end of my march break and I could't feel worse. I didn't eat enough, I didn't sleep enough and I drank way to much. Now I'm tired, can't concentrate and have diarrhea(cha cha cha). I will be off the tequila for a while that's a certainty. However, I did have a great time hanging out and partying with my friends down in Edmundston and it's pretty much the only positive thing about the week.
Basically, it's time for me to wake the fuck up. I still have ten months to make 2007 the best year of my life and I don't plan on failing.
Now it's time for me to go waste another 700$ on the sunday major tournaments. GG me!
Edmundston
So I'm back in Edmundston to get my car and for march break. My dad gave me his old Toyota corolla so finally i'll be able to go anywhere I want whenever I want.
Yesterday, waiting for the bus at the bus station I ran into a friend I had not seen for a while. The guy is from Toronto but he moved to Edmundston during high school. He was sitting behind me in english class and it turned out he was as big of a movie enthusiast as I was. Anyway, we started talking and at one point he tells me he plays online poker. It's not very often that you run into somebody that plays a lot of online poker. It's always fun to talk poker with a friend so I got his e-mail and we will probably stay in touch from now on. So the bus ride home was a bit less boring as we talked about poker, movies, the show lost, etc. Hopefully we'll get a small home game going while i'm here and play a bit of poker.
exams and poker
I didn't have much time to play poker lately but today I played a little session and made a profit of about 2100$. It's nice to make a bit of money especially since it's been a tough month poker wise.
Anyway, I need to prepare for tomorow's exam so good weekend everybody!
Busy times!
